The Indian state of Uttarakhand is located in the Northern part of the country. Earlier, the state was a part of Uttar Pradesh and was created as a separate state entity on 9th November 2000. The capital city of the state is Dehradun. It shares its boundary with China and the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. The state of Uttarakhand is famous for its mountains, valleys, lush greenery, the mighty rivers, and the history and culture of the mountain communities like the Garhwalis and Kumaonis.
